LAHORE:City Traffic Police Lahore has launched a digital policing initiative called ‘One App’ along with a new uniform.

CTO Dr Athar Waheed distributed iPads equipped with the application to circle officers. He said that the app would allow traffic wardens to access multiple operational services with a single click and take immediate action.

According to the CTO, the application is integrated with data from various government departments and will record traffic violations as part of an official record.Traffic officers will also be able to verify identity cards, driving licences and stolen vehicles on the spot, while vehicle ownership, fitness certificates and route permits can also be checked through the app. The system will also help take action against encroachments and environmental violations, while officers will be able to check e-challan records, FIR status and criminal history of drivers.
