Many people in Balochistan feel that their voices are not properly heard. There are many issues such as unemployment, poverty, water shortage, electricity loadshedding and lack of educational facilities. When people try to talk openly about these problems, they sometimes face pressure or fear. Because of this, many citizens remain silent even when they want change. This situation shows that freedom of speech is not always fully protected. In Turbat, one of the main cities of Balochistan, people have organised peaceful demonstrations about different issues. Students in Balochistan have also raised their voices about educational and other problems through online platforms. Sometimes, these posts bring attention from authorities and some students say they are warned to be careful about what they share. This fear limits open expression.
Journalists in Balochistan also face challenges while reporting on sensitive matters. Covering political or security issues can be difficult. As a result, some reporters avoid certain topics to protect themselves. When media workers cannot report freely, society loses an important source of truth. For true progress, citizens must be allowed to speak freely and without fear. When people can express their opinions peacefully, society becomes stronger, more united and more democratic.
