KARACHI: Soneri Bank Ltd said its Baber Market branch in Karachi has received certification under WWF-Pakistan’s Green Office programme, becoming the bank’s first branch recognised for environmentally sustainable operations.
The branch, located in Landhi, was certified for adopting measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, water conservation and waste management, the bank said in a statement.The recognition marks a milestone in Soneri Bank’s sustainability initiatives and aligns with the State Bank of Pakistan’s Green Banking Guidelines.
Mubarak Ali, the bank’s chief risk officer, said the certification reflects Soneri Bank’s commitment to integrating environmentally responsible practices into its operations while supporting sustainable economic growth.The initiative also aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including clean energy, responsible consumption and climate action, the bank said.
