Rawalpindi: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a raid warehouse in Ratta Amral and seized and destroyed 16,000 litres of expired beverages from well-known brands.
PFA spokesperson said the action was based on confidential information.
During the raid, it was revealed that the suspects had been erasing the original expiry dates on bottles and cans using a buffer machine and replacing them with new dates to resell the products in the market.
The team confiscated a large quantity of expired drinks on the spot and destroyed them.
Police were called to the scene and arrested the suspects for tampering with expiry dates. A case has also been registered against them at the relevant police station on the PFA’s complaint.
