Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Friday arrested four suspects, including the alleged ringleader of a group associated with the “Abro gang”, for their involvement in multiple robbery and street crime incidents.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrests were made during an operation in Shah Town Phase III. The detained suspects were identified as Munawar Ali, son of Haji Nazar; Adeel Ali, son of Ishaq Ali; Mazhar Ali, son of Haji Nazar; and Rizwan Ali, son of Nadeem Ahmed.

Two mobile phones and cash were recovered from the suspects’ possession. The spokesperson said the arrested men, along with their accomplices, were involved in several incidents of snatching mobile phones and cash at gunpoint in different areas of Karachi, including Shah Latif Town, Shah Town, Razzaqabad Jogi Mor, Pipri, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Quaidabad and surrounding localities.

One of the suspects, Rizwan, was also reportedly involved in stealing iron and brass from Pakistan Steel Mills in addition to street crime activities. Rangers officials said raids were under way to arrest the remaining members of the group. The arrested suspects, along with the recovered items, had been handed over to police for further legal action.
