LAHORE: FG Polo defeated BN Polo 7–6 in a nail-biting final to win the title of the 6th Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2026, sponsored by
Diamond Paints and Remington Pharma, at the prestigious Jinnah Polo Fields here on Sunday. The championship match lived up to expectations, delivering high-intensity action and end-to-end competition from the opening chukka. Both sides displayed exceptional teamwork, tactical discipline, and horsemanship, keeping the outcome uncertain until the final moments. FG Polo held their nerve under pressure, scoring a decisive late goal to edge past BN Polo 7–6 and secure the coveted Jinnah Gold Cup trophy.
Marcos Rivarola led the charge for FG Polo with an impressive four goals, while Raul Laplacette contributed three crucial goals, including key strikes during pivotal stages of the match. For BN Polo, Titu Ruiz Guinazu delivered a strong performance with four goals, supported by two goals from Saqib Khan Khakwani. Despite their resilience and attacking flair, BN Polo fell just short in the closing stages of the contest. Raul Laplacette was deservedly named the most valuable player (MVP) of the final for his outstanding all-round performance and decisive contribution to FG Polo’s riumph.
The emerging player award was presented to Ameen Rehman in recognition of his promising talent and impressive display throughout the tournament. The Best Playing Pony award of the final was conferred upon “Fiona,” owned by Mian Abbas Mukhtar, acknowledging the mare’s exceptional speed, stamina, and impact during the high-stakes encounter.
