ISLAMABAD: United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Salem Muhammad Al Zaabi has said that Pakistan and the UAE share decades of trust, cooperation, and people-to-people connections.
“The Pakistani community in the UAE and the growing partnership in trade, investment, and culture continue to strengthen this special relationship,” he said while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the final of the Ambassadors Ramadan Football Cup here at the UAE mission about mid-night Thursday.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar was the chief guest on the occasion. He distributed prizes and handed over the cup to the victorious team.
The ambassador said that over the past few days, the tournament has been more than just football. “It has been a celebration of friendship, teamwork, and the strong bonds that unite us especially the historic and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and the UAE.
He said that sport has a unique power to bring people together. Football speaks a universal language. During the holy month of Ramadan—a time of reflection, discipline, and unity it is especially meaningful to gather in a spirit of friendly competition and mutual respect.
The values we practice in Ramadan “patience, teamwork, and perseverance” are the same values we see on the field.
The ambassador thanked the participating teams from the diplomatic missions and UAE companies. “Your enthusiasm and sportsmanship made this tournament a success.”
