LAHORE: The 25th day winter meeting of the Lahore Race Club is set to deliver an engaging six-race card, all within Class VII divisions but spread across different categories.
Two of the contests—race one and race four—feature maiden appearances, adding intrigue as fresh runners test themselves. Races four and five will be run over a mile, while the remaining four are set at 1100 metres. A total of 49 horses are entered, with the largest field of ten in race four and the smallest line-ups of seven in races one and five. The opening race, a maiden over 1100 metres, sees Singhar installed as favourite, with Abdullah Pasrur tipped for place honours and Fayyum considered the fluke. Field also includes Princess Arooj, Baghi, True My Love, and Majesty.
The second race, also over 1100 metres, has Mafnood Jr as the standout, while American Star is expected to challenge for the places and Naveed-e-Saher carries outside hopes. Field features Haseeb Thrill, Anni Power, Silent Melody, Self Belief, and Thunder Prince.
Race three, another 1100-metre contest, features Red Chilly as the favourite, with Loud And Clear fancied for a strong showing and Haseeb Thunder marked as the fluke. Field includes Asif Princess, Luckvir, Pakiza, Absolutely Not, Lex Lugar, and Thunder Boy.
