LAHORE:The Punjab government’s commitment to sports infrastructure took centre stage on Friday as Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab M Ali visited the under-construction Punjab International Squash Complex and the Punjab Swimming Pool at Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
He directed the officials to expedite the work at both projects, stressing that the facility must meet international standards. For swimmers and squash players alike, these projects promise not only improved training environments but also opportunities to compete at higher levels with confidence.
Accompanied by Director Admin Abid Shaukat, GM Swimming Pool Mustafa Shah, and officers from PMU, M Ali toured the sites, paying particular attention to the progress of the swimming pool’s upgradation.
Talking on the occasion, M Ali emphasised that the upgraded swimming pool would serve as a landmark facility for both male and female swimmers in Punjab. “After completion, Punjab Swimming Pool will prove to be a great swimming facility for the province’s athletes,” he remarked, highlighting the government’s vision to elevate swimming to a professional level.
