FM Radio station approved for Upper Chitral

PESHAWAR: The provincial government has allocated Rs10.922 million for the establishment of an FM radio station for Upper Chitral under the Department of Information and Public Relations.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at ensuring timely dissemination of information and effective communication of official messages in the remote district. β€œThe project will create new employment opportunities for residents of Upper Chitral. Local youth are likely to benefit from jobs in radio journalism, technical operations, programme production and administrative roles,” said an official, adding, the move will not only strengthen the local economy but also provide a platform for nurturing indigenous talent.
