LAHORE:A signing ceremony for an information-sharing agreement between the Punjab Police and the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) was held at the Central Police Office. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was IGP Punjab, Abdul Kareem. Chief Project Officer, Nadra Directorate Headquarters, Rehman Qamar, attended the event along with his team.
The agreement was signed by DIG Information Technology Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana and Chief Project Officer Nadra Rehman Qamar.The spokesperson for Punjab Police stated that under the agreement, NADRA will provide the Punjab Police with modern facilities, including fingerprint matching, biometric verification, CNIC details, family tree information, FRC verification and other advanced services. These facilities will help to enhance the arrest of criminals and miscreants, community policing and the service delivery system.
An introductory meeting of the Crime Control Department (CCD) was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of IGP Punjab, Abdul Kareem. During the meeting, Sohail Zafar Chattha, Additional IG CCD, briefed the IG Punjab in detail on the department’s mandate, objectives, targets, performance, and challenges. IGP Abdul Kareem appreciated the overall performance of the CCD in curbing heinous crimes. The meeting also included a detailed review of the CCD’s infrastructure, human resources, logistics, and administrative matters.
