LAHORE:Gulberg Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in an attempted assault on a nursing student.According to the spokesperson, the accused was traced and apprehended from Gulberg III.
Police said the 21-yearold student worked part-time at a private clinic near Gaddafi Stadium. On the day of the incident, she was waiting for transport on Ferozepur Road after duty when the suspect allegedly tried to assault her. During resistance, the suspect reportedly dragged the victim on the ground, causing injuries to her arms and legs.
Police registered a case against the accused, identified as Akash, and arrested him. SP Model Town Shehrbano Naqvi said the suspect was handed over to the Gender Cell. She added that those exploiting women deserve no leniency and will face strict legal action.
Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, mobile phones, motorcycles and vehicles in various incidents of theft and robbery across the city.According to details, in Ghaziabad, Zulfiqar was robbed of Rs270,000 and a mobile phone; in Sherakot, Nadeem lost Rs265,000 and a mobile phone; in Naseerabad, Anjum was deprived of Rs240,000 and a mobile phone; and in Lytton Road, Sajjad was robbed of Rs225,000 and a mobile phone.In Muslim Town, Dastgir was deprived of Rs165,000, a mobile phone and other valuables. Meanwhile, cars were stolen from Mozang and Johar Town, while motorcycles were stolen from Naulakha, Millat Park and North Cantonment.
Meanwhile, Lorry Adda Police arrested two suspects of snatching valuables. According to the spokesperson, the suspects, identified as Ayaz and Danish, used to snatch mobile phones from citizens and flee. Police recovered six mobile phones, cash and weapons from their possession and registered cases.
Ghaziabad Police have busted a motorcycle thieves gang ad arrested its two members involved in 46 cases.According to the spokesperson, the gang leader Shahid and his accomplice Rafaqat were arrested with the help of CCTV footage. Police recovered six motorcycles, a mobile phone, master keys, two pistols and bullets from their possession and registered cases.
