MUZAFFARABAD: A meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet was on Friday held here under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.
The cabinet approved the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Service Tribunals (Amendment) Act 2026, the revised budget estimates for 2024-25, budget estimates for 2025–26 of the Bagh Development Authority and the allocation of state land (Khalisa Sarkar) for the Sharda Police Station.The cabinet approved cancellation of the State Subject Certificate in favour of Muhammad Asim Sharif Butt, son of Muhammad Sharif Butt, a resident of Mohalla Androon Haram Gate, Mohalla Talan Wali, Multan.
Earlier, the cabinet was briefed on the Mirpur Healthcare Hospital. A committee headed by the minister for finance was formed to review the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Khalisa Sarkar (Ground Rent and Lease) Amendment Rules 2025.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore stated that the government has worked painstakingly to restore public confidence and fast-track the development process. Regarding the upcoming Overseas Convention being held in Muzaffarabad, he said the convention would serve as a significant milestone for the region. Terming overseas Kashmiris a valuable asset to the state, he said their valuable input and suggestions would be incorporated into government policy.
He said the purpose of organizing the Overseas Convention was to provide overseas Kashmiris with an opportunity to play their much needed role in the construction and development of the state.
The government is taking steps to provide a conducive environment for foreign investment.
The meeting was attended by members of the cabinet, the chief secretary and other relevant authorities.
