LAHORE : Rapidly evolving medical technologies and emerging trends are bringing new hope to patients suffering from kidney diseases through which young doctors can significantly enhance patient care and serve humanity more effectively.

These views were expressed by Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Prof Dr Farooq Afzal while presiding over a one-day training workshop on Peritoneal Dialysis organised by the Department of Nephrology at Lahore General Hospital (LGH). The workshop was attended by LGH MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain, Head of Nephrology Prof Dr Abad-ur-Rehman, Dr Yasir Hussain, Dr Rosheena Anjum, Dr Qurrat-ul-Ain, Dr Sajid Iqbal and postgraduate doctors from across the province.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Byonyks and KBB companies to promote collaboration in advanced dialysis machines and innovative techniques, aiming to modernise renal care services. Medical experts provided hands-on training to participants on the latest techniques of peritoneal dialysis, a procedure performed through the abdominal cavity instead of conventional dialysis. Speaking to the media, Prof Farooq Afzal stated that in line with the Punjab govt’s vision, modern medical facilities are being ensured at LGH.
