Pink Games: Multan, Sargodha shine in archery and chess

LAHORE: The Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026 continued with thrilling contests across 17 sports disciplines at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex, showcasing the growing strength of women’s sports in Punjab. Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal attended the competitions, alongside senior officials including Rana Nadeem Anjum and Abid Shaukat, applauding the skills and determination of the young athletes.

Multan Division claimed the archery crown, with Faisalabad finishing second and Lahore securing third place.

In chess, Sargodha Division emerged victorious, while Lahore Division took the runner-up spot.

In table tennis event, Lahore division defeated Multan division by 3-0 with the set score of 11-8, 11-4, and 11-9. In table tennis event, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujranwala divisions booked a place in the semifinals of table tennis event at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall.

The teams of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala divisions reached in the semifinals of Khelta Punjab Pink Games padel tennis event. The teams of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad divisions made it to the semifinals of Badminton Women Team Event at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. The matches of Pink Games hockey event were played at the National Hockey stadium. The first semifinal will be played between Sahiwal and Bahawalpur while Lahore team will lock horns with Faisalabad in the second semifinal. Lahore hockey team toppled Gujranwala by a huge margin of 12-0. Striker Shariqa stole the show with 10 goals to her credit while the remaining two goals were share by Saira and Shiza Ilyas. In another match, Bahawalpur thrashed Sargodha division by 7-3 while Sahiwal emerged triumphant by 4-3 against Multan. The Pink games athletics competitions were held at the Punjab Stadium where Maryam Batool of DG Khan won the 400m race. Ayesha of Rawalpindi was second while Jaweria of Sahiwal finished third. Muazzama of Faisalabad won the first position in shot put competition. Roshaney Khan of Bahawalpur got the second position while Rida Ahmed of Sargodha took the third position.

The exciting karate competitions were held at Elite Training Center where Mehreen of Lahore defeated Aqsa of Faisalabad, Gujranwala’s Hadiya Waqas defeated Rawalpindi’s Dua Siraj, Zainab of Multan toppled Zainab Shahid of Bahawalpur, Sahiwal’s Ayeza Ashraf defeated DG Khan’s Miral. In Pink Games volleyball event, Sargodha defeated DG Khan by 2-0, Multan outplayed Sahiwal by 2-0, Bahawalpur thrashed Gujranwala by the same margin while Faisalabad edged out Rawalpindi by a narrow margin of 2-1.
