Mardan police receive 2,974 complaints against land mafia

PESHAWAR: After launching an aggressive action against land mafias in Mardan, police received 2974 complaints against different groups and individuals in the last few weeks.District Police Officer Masood Ahmad Bangash along with deputy commissioner addressed a khuli kutchehry a few weeks back and asked people to approach police in case of any complaint against land mafias and other groups.

“A total of 2,974 complaints were received by the DPO Complaint Cell. Out of these, 1,289 were marked to SP City, 836 to SP Saddar, and 849 to SP Rural,” the DPO told reporters.The official said out of these complaints, 2,324 cases have been resolved by the police. Most of these were related to property and monetary disputes as well as family issues. An official said 1,042 complaints were resolved by the office of SP City, 622 by SP Saddar and 660 by SP Rural.

A total of 585 complaints were in progress in which 247 were in progress at the office of SP City, 162 at SP Saddar and 176 at SP Rural.Regional Police Officer Rabnawaz Khan said the force is committed to provide justice to the people and address their long standing issues that can create law and order problems.
