ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formally enforced a new uniform policy for its executive staff, acting on directives issued by Director General FIA Dr. Usman Anwar.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening organizational discipline while also modernizing and standardizing the agency’s public image across all its operational wings and departments.

The directive applies to officials serving in both the Immigration and Investigation cadres and represents a notable shift in long-standing protocol, particularly for senior officers. Under the newly enforced regulations, it has become mandatory for all executive officers, from Grade 17 through Grade 22, to wear the officially prescribed uniform while carrying out their professional and official duties.

According to FIA officials, the policy has been introduced with multiple objectives in mind. These include fostering a unified and professional identity within the organization, reinforcing the chain of command and internal hierarchy, and enhancing the quality of public service delivery through a more structured, disciplined, and visibly identifiable workforce. In the past, uniform requirements for senior investigators and directors were applied more flexibly and were not strictly enforced.

To ensure smooth implementation, formal instructions and guidelines have been circulated across all relevant formations and offices of the agency. Authorities have emphasized immediate compliance with the new standards, signaling that the uniform policy is an integral part of broader institutional reforms within the FIA.
