LAHORE:Two individuals injured a disabled man by opening fire over a minor dispute in the Ghaziabad area.
According to police, suspects Abdul Rehman and Nazar Khan fired at a disabled citizen, Waqas, who was standing at a grocery shop. Police took prompt action and arrested both suspects along with weapons. Police said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg and was shifted to hospital. A case was registered.
Police have identified the bodies of a woman and her one-yearold child found in garbage in the Manawan area. According to police officials, the woman was identified as 24-yearold Sonia and the child as one-yearold Hamza. A case was registered at Manawan police station on the complaint of the woman’s brother, M Imran.The complainant stated that his sister had come to stay with their mother and went to the market with her son two days earlier but did not return.
Rang Mahal police foiled an attempt to transport drugs worth millions and arrested a suspect.
According to a police spokesperson, acting on secret information, police arrested suspect Nasir, recovered over 15 kg hashish from his possession and registered a case. Police said the suspect was transporting drugs on foot to avoid detection and disclosed during interrogation that he used to procure narcotics from Peshawar through parcels and local transport for sale in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Nawab Town police arrested two drug dealers and registered cases against them. Police recovered 540 gram ice (crystal meth) from suspect Amjad and sheesha along with flavours from suspect Zubair. Police said Amjad has been involved in drug dealing and has been imprisoned multiple times in the past.
Eleven proclaimed offenders were arrested in separate operations here Tuesday.
Race Course and Garhi Shahu police arrested two proclaimed offenders. According to a police spokesperson, using a stop-and-search method, police arrested suspects Aamir and Aftab and handed them over to the investigation wing. The arrested proclaimed offenders were wanted in cases related to theft and fraud.
Dolphin Squad arrested nine proclaimed offenders wanted in financial crime cases from different areas of the city. According to a Dolphin Squad spokesperson, the arrested suspects include Usman, Falak, Aslam, Shahid, Imran and others. They were handed over to Sandha, Lytton Road, Islampura, Gowalmandi and other police stations. The spokesperson said the suspects were involved in issuing bogus cheques and fraud. Cases had been registered against them in Faisalabad, Pakpattan and Lahore, and they had been absconding for the past five years.
Suay Aasal Police Post arrested a gang involved in stealing Wapda wires and electrical equipment from government schools. According to police, suspects Irfan and Waqar were arrested from Attu Aasal village on secret information. Police recovered stolen Wapda wires, generators, motors, a stolen motorcycle, cash, and two pistols, and registered cases against them.
