IHC directs SP Adiala jail to decide pleas on Imaan Mazari’s meetings

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued written order on a petition of Shireen Mazari seeking jail facilities and meetings with Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha.

The IHC converted the petition into a representation and sent it to the Superintendent Adiala Jail and directed that the petition be decided expeditiously as per the law.

In a two-page written order, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir stated that Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha were sentenced on January 24, but according to the petitioner, they are not being allowed meeting their families and lawyers.

The court said that the petitioner did not approach the relevant forum on this matter. The IHC converted the petition into a representation and sent it to the SP Adiala Jail and directed that the petition be decided expeditiously as per the law.
