ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) and Kazakhstan Boxing Federation on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening international cooperation and providing modern training opportunities to Pakistani boxers.
The signing ceremony was held at the Amir Khan Boxing Hall (Pakistan Sports Complex), marking a significant step forward for the development of boxing in Pakistan.Under the MoU, Pakistani boxers will receive advanced and modern training in Kazakhstan, a country renowned for its excellence and consistent success in international boxing. The agreement is expected to open new avenues for skill development, exposure to world-class coaching methods and competitive experience for Pakistan’s emerging and elite boxers.
Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mohyuddin Wani, Director General Sports Board Yasir Pirzada and internationally acclaimed boxer Amir Khan were present at the ceremony, which was attended by officials, coaches and athletes. Speaking on the occasion, Mohyuddin Wani said that sports can play a vital role in strengthening ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, adding that boxing, in particular, offers a strong platform for international collaboration.
Aamir Khan also spoke on the occasion: “Kazakhstan is very advanced in the sport of boxing. Pakistan should benefit from their expertise, systems and training methods,” Amir Khan remarked.He praised the Pakistan Sports Board for providing improved facilities for boxing and emphasized that the Field Marshal’s vision is to attract youth towards sports and healthy activities.
Kazakhstan Minister for Education Zhazira Iskindirove said that his country’s strong boxing background would be of great benefit to Pakistan youth.
