ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs11.30 per litre for the next 15 days, pushing the new rate to Rs268.38 per litre, while keeping petrol prices unchanged at Rs253.17 per litre, adding fresh pressure on transport costs and inflation at a time when the economy is struggling.
The price revision will take effect from February 1 and remain in force until February 15, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) on the recommendation of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). Under the new rates, diesel has been increased from Rs257.08 to Rs268.38 per litre, while petrol remains frozen at its previous level.
Officials said the adjustment reflects international oil market trends and exchange rate movements.
