According to a Punjab Highways Department official, the projects, reflecting Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s development vision, will cost approximately Rs4.68 billion. The initiatives, the official said, “aim to improve the existing road network, ease traffic congestion, and provide smoother daily commuting for citizens by repairing and widening damaged roads”.
He added that the projects demonstrated the chief minister’s commitment to providing modern and quality travel facilities, reducing public difficulties, and promoting balanced development across the province through high-standard infrastructure and road networks, thereby improving the quality of life for ordinary citizens. The Superintending Engineer, Highway Circle-II Rawalpindi, has floated tenders for the construction work.
