3 white men charged in attacks on Shahzad Akbar, Adil Raja

LONDON: Three white men have been charged with offences linked to incidents at addresses in Chesham and Cambridge, at the homes of Major retired Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar.

The Met police told Geo New that due to what appears to be the highly targeted nature of the incidents, the matters are being investigated by detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing London.

Following their arrest earlier this week and subsequent authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service, the people charged are as follows:

[B] Karl Blackbird, (21.06.1985), of Cattell Way, Bedworth was charged with conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Chesham on 24 December, 2025 and conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Cambridge on 24 December, 2025

[C] Clark McAulay (19.08.1986) of Dalton Gardens, Coventry was charged with conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Chesham on 24 December, 2025.

[E] Doneto Brammer (17.05.2004) of Maryland Road, Wood Green, London, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered – all in relation to an incident at an address in Cambridge on 31 December, 2025.

All three men, who are British nationals, were charged on Friday 22 January and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 23 January.

Officers are also investigating an incident at an address in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, on 24 December, 2025.

On Monday, 5 January, a 34-year-old man [A] was arrested in connection with the incident that took place in Cambridge on 31 December. He was arrested at an address in Great Dunmow, Essex and has subsequently been released on bail until a date in April, pending further enquiries.

On Wednesday, 21 January, four men [B-E] and one woman [F] were arrested in the West Midlands, Warwickshire and London areas on suspicion of various offences. The five arrests are connected to investigations into various incidents that took place at an address in Cambridge in Chesham in late December 2025 and January 2026.

All five people were taken to a London police station.

The arrests in the Warwickshire and West Midlands Police force areas were also carried out with support from officers in those force areas, as well as colleagues from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands.

The five people arrested on 20 January are as follows:

[B] a 40-year-old man arrested at address in Warwickshire on suspicion of conspiracy to assault in connection with the incident in Chesham on 24 December.

[C] a 39-year-old man arrested at address in Coventry on suspicion of conspiracy to assault in connection with the incident in Chesham on 24 December.

[D] a 30-year-old man arrested at an address in Birmingham on suspicion of conspiracy to assault in connection with the incident in Cambridge on 24 December.

[E] a 21-year-old man arrested at an address in north London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and firearms offences in connection with the incident in Cambridge on 31 December

[F] a 40-year-old woman arrested at an address in north London on suspicion of possession of a firearm in connection with the incident in Cambridge on 31 December.

[B,C,E] were charged as above. [D] and [F] were released on bail to dates in April.

On Friday, 23 January [G] a 25-year-old man was arrested in Warwickshire on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to assault, in connection with the incident in Cambridge on 24 December 2025. He was taken to a London police station where he remains in custody.
