A series of fire incidents in Karachi occurred on Tuesday, three days after the Gul Plaza tragedy, as fires broke out at three different locations across the city, including a vegetable market, a residential apartment in Saddar and a K-Electric substation in Shadman Town.
A fire erupted at the New Sabzi Mandi on the Super Highway. Fire brigade teams of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) were immediately dispatched, and the blaze, which started in the sheds, was brought under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, a fire also broke out in a flat of a residential building in the Saddar area, prompting the immediate deployment of fire tenders to extinguish the flames. In another incident, a fire was reported at a K-Electric substation in Shadman Town. Firefighting teams reached the site and efforts were made to control the situation. Authorities said investigations were under way to determine the causes of the fires.
