LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has scheduled a hearing for a petition filed by Mubashara Monika, the daughter of Bushra Bibi, seeking permission to meet her mother.
Although the registrar’s office raised an objection, stating that the petition should have been filed in the LHC’s Rawalpindi bench, however, Justice Farooq Haider has agreed to hear it. A decision on the objections along with further proceedings on the petition, is expected after the hearing.
According to the petitioner, Bushra Bibi is her biological daughter and the superintendent of Adiala Jail is not allowing her to meet her mother despite repeated efforts, which is a violation of her basic rights. The petitioner has requested the court to order the superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange her meeting with her mother.
