Nov 26 protest case: Aleema’s lawyer cross-examines two more witnesses

RAWALPINDI: The lawyer of Aleema Khanum, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, on Monday completed the cross-examination of two more witnesses in November 26 protest case registered by the Sadiqabad police station, following which a Special Court of Rawalpindi adjourned the hearing till January 21.

Aleema Khanum appeared in the court along with her lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik during the hearing of the case against 11 accused. Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah was also present in the court. Aleema’s lawyer completed the cross-examination of two prosecution witnesses -- IT Assistant Tariq and ASI Babar. So far, the defence counsel has completed the cross-examination of seven witnesses in this case. The court also appointed Chaudhry Amin Masood as the state counsel for accused Atif Riaz due to his continuous absence. Later, on the request of the defence lawyer, the court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow (Wednesday).
