ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday recorded the statements of five prosecution witnesses in the case against alleged Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist Bashir Ahmed.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided over the hearing, during which Prosecutor Raja Naveed represented the state. After recording the witnesses’ testimonies, the court adjourned the proceedings and summoned additional witnesses for the next hearing.

According to the prosecution, Bashir Ahmed was arrested from Bani Gala area, where explosive material and detonators were allegedly recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against him at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station.

Meanwhile, in a separate matter, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majouka adjourned the hearing of the controversial tweet case against Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha without any proceedings due to a lawyers’ strike.

Hadi Ali Chatha appeared before the court during the hearing. However, proceedings were deferred in view of the Islamabad Bar Association’s strike.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had registered a case against Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha.
