ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday ordered that the Practice and Procedure Rules should be uploaded on the court official website within 48 hours.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani also directed that copies of the rules be provided to the IHCBA and district bars.
The court addressed the petitioners lawyer and said that if the order was not complied with, then you should file a criminal procedure and “I will call the registrar”.
During the hearing of a case related to PTCL by Justice Mohsin Kayani, the lawyer expressed ignorance about the courts inquiry regarding the Practice and Procedure Rules and said that he was applying for the rules.
Justice Kayani said “we made the high court rules which we did not get either. I am a judge; how will you get those if I do not get them? The full court approved the rules but they were not made public.”
The lawyer said “I have found out from the law ministry, I will write an application.”
The court remarked that directions had been issued and the rules would be uploaded on the website within 48 hours.
“If the order is not followed, then you should file a criminal procedure and I will call the registrar.”
The lawyer requested to reschedule the hearing of the case for January 29, but Justice Kayani said that he did not know whether he would be there on 29th or not. Later, the court adjourned the hearing without giving any date.
