Two-day faculty training programme concludes at KUST

PESHAWAR: A two-day faculty training programme organised by the Centre for Human Resource and Career Development (CHRCD) at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) has concluded.

Officials said on Sunday that the programme aimed to enhance the teaching competencies of faculty members by familiarising them with modern pedagogical approaches, the effective use of digital tools, and contemporary assessment systems in line with emerging educational needs.

Overseen by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Zafar Ilyas, the event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Naseeruddin, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences Prof Dr Dilawar Khan, along with directors and faculty members from various departments of the university.

The inaugural session featured an address by Dr Asif Ali, In-charge CHRCD and Focal Person, Youth Development Centre, KUST. He highlighted the importance of quality education, pedagogical innovation, and continuous professional development of teachers.

Educationists, including Dr Afshan Huma (Assistant Professor, Allama Iqbal Open University), Dr Mudassar Hussain (Assistant Professor, Department of Education and Research), and Tariq Hassan (Director, Open and Distance Learning, KUST), delivered sessions on various academic and instructional themes.

On the second day, an interactive workshop comprising hands-on activities, expert lectures, and panel discussions was held to equip participants with practical teaching strategies. Dr Afshan Huma and Dr Shah Jahan (Lecturer, Department of Education and Research) served as resource persons for the workshop.

Participants termed the programme informative and beneficial, expressing confidence that the training would help improve their teaching practices and align them with modern educational standards.
