SUKKUR: In a brutal incident near Dadu on Friday, a married woman, Zamiran Qamberani, was reportedly assaulted by her husband and in-laws before being set on fire, leaving her critically injured.

Reports indicated that near Dadu a married woman, Zamiran Qamberani, was allegedly subjected to violence by her husband and brothers-in-law before being set on fire injuring her seriously in village of Mirzo Jamali here on Friday. Qamberani was shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi in critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries late at night. The heirs alleged that their daughter was deliberately set on fire and killed. The heirs of the deceased, including her father Ilyas Qamberani, mother Ajeeban Qamberani, and others, staged a sit-in at Dadu SP Chowk, alongside Zamiran Qamberani’s body. While speaking to the media, the heirs said Zamiran was married one and a half years ago and she had a four-month-old son. They alleged that Zamiran was regularly subjected to violence by her husband and brothers-in-law. According to their account on Friday after the assault, the accused set Zamiran on fire, resulting in her death. They urged the Sindh IG, Hyderabad DIG, and Dadu SSP to take notice of the incident, arrest the accused, and ensure justice. Due to protests and sit-ins against the incident, tension prevailed in the area, while police have begun investigations.
