Islamabad : For the first time in the current winter season, the temperature in Islamabad touched the freezing point (0°C) on Saturday morning, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The PMD said the mercury in the federal capital is expected to fall further to minus 1°C today (Sunday), accompanied by high humidity levels, intensifying the cold.

Cold and dry weather is likely to persist in Islamabad and its surrounding areas over the coming days, with patchy fog and frost expected during morning and night hours. In upper regions, including Murree, the Galiyat and nearby areas, temperatures will be significantly lower. Experts have warned that AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan will experience extremely cold weather, with severe chill continuing across the region.
