Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak was given a detailed briefing regarding the progress of the Kutchery Chowk remodeling and construction project. In the briefing, it was informed that a total of 42 percent of the construction work of the project has been completed.

According to the briefing, the guide beam work in Iftikhar Janjua Underpass has been completed, the guide beam and piling work in Kutchery Chowk and Jinnah Park Underpass have also been completed.

Similarly, 90 per cent of the retaining wall work has been completed, while the construction of the boundary wall is in full swing. Thus, the project is progressing as per the stipulated timeline and will be completed in May this year. Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing construction work, the Commissioner directed that the pace of work be maintained and all phases be completed within the stipulated period. He clarified that no compromise will be made on the construction quality and all the work will be completed as per the approved engineering standards. The Commissioner directed the relevant departments to ensure effective arrangements for traffic management, public convenience and reduction of difficulties faced by the citizens. Traffic flow in the square and its surroundings will improve and the public will get long-term convenience.

The Commissioner directed the concerned officers to further strengthen regular monitoring, transparency and mutual communication so that the project can be completed on time and successfully.
