Islamabad: The Pakistan International Airlines on Thursday announced the resumption of direct flights from Lahore to London in March.
An airline spokesperson said the first flight, PK-757, would take off from Lahore on March 30, with all Lahore-London services operating into Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4.The route is being revived after a six-year suspension that had effectively halted PIA’s presence in the UK.
London was among the earliest international destinations in the airline’s network.With the addition of the Lahore-London route, PIA’s weekly flights to the UK will rise to seven.Before restrictions were imposed, the airline operated up to 10 weekly flights between Pakistani cities and London.
The spokesperson said flight frequencies would be increased in phases, subject to passenger demand and operational capacity.Earlier, PIA also announced the launch of three weekly nonstop flights from Islamabad to London from March 29.
