Arrangements for Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs reviewed

HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ghazanfar Ali Qadri has said that the 774th three-day annual Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) will be observed from February 9 to February 11.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the Urs arrangements at Darbar Hall, Jamshoro. During the meeting, discussions were held on all administrative matters, security arrangements, and facilities for devotees.

The deputy commissioner directed that all relevant officers remain in constant coordination during the Urs so that millions of devotees arriving from across the country can be provided basic facilities without any hindrance. He made it clear that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.

He informed the meeting that the closing ceremony of the Urs will be attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while the inauguration ceremony will be graced by the governor of Sindh. Besides, various events, including cultural programmes, will also be organized during the Urs.

The meeting was attended by former MNA Sikandar Ali Rahupoto, Chief Administrator Auqaf Mukhtiar Ali Abro, Mumtaz Ali Mangy, Shahzad Ali Shah, and officers of variousdepartments.

Emphasizing that security is the biggest challenge during the Urs, the deputy commissioner stressed the need for comprehensive and effective planning. Police officers, while briefing the meeting, stated that security will be divided into eight zones, with more than 5,000 security personnel deployed.
