ALPURI: The construction project of the Karora-Ajmir Road has crossed all limits of delay, poor planning, and mismanagement, creating hardships for the public.
At several locations, the road has been completely dug up and left abandoned, while at other points only gravel has been spread in a manner that fails to meet any engineering standards.According to official documents, the project carries an estimated cost of Rs 2.27 billion and includes the reconstruction of a 28-kilometre road.
The official claim is that Rs 80 million is being spent per kilometre. However, the public is questioning that if such a huge amount has indeed been spent, why does the road present a picture of devastation.
This road holds importance for the residents of Kana Tehsil, but today it has turned into a source of misery for the public.Patients, students, labourers, traders, women, and elderly citizens face severe difficulties on a daily basis.
Ambulances are unable to transport patients in time, attendance in educational institutions has been affected, businesses have stalled, and routine life has been badly disrupted.Despite this, the relevant departments, elected representatives, and influential circles have maintained silence.
The people of Kana Valley were initially very happy with this project. Political and social circles made tall claims, held inauguration ceremonies, and gave assurances. In practice, however, not only did the work suffer serious delays, reports of the use of substandard materials and faulty construction also emerged.
