MINGORA: Over 600 sanitation and water supply staff members of Water and Sanitation Services Company, Swat (WSSCS), would remain on duty during Eidul Azha to ensure the provision of the best possible services to the citizens.

According to the company’s spokesperson Shaista Hakim, the staff members would work round the clock to ensure the timely disposal of sacrificial animal waste and an uninterrupted water supply throughout the Eid holidays.

A meeting regarding arrangements for Eid was held under the chairmanship of the chief executive officer. Officials from the sanitation and water supply departments and others attended the meeting.

The CEO directed that sanitation operations would continue without interruption throughout all three days of Eid while the leaves of staff members have been cancelled to ensure timely cleanliness and the provision of the best municipal services to citizens.

He added that over 445 personnel, including drivers, supervisors and sanitary workers, would participate in the cleanliness operation in Mingora city. In addition, over 145 water supply staff and field personnel would remain on duty, while the administrative staff would also remain present in offices.

Similarly, over 100 vehicles would be available for the special Eid cleanliness operation, including mini dumpers, tractor shovels, skip loaders, and excavators. Furthermore, over 1,000 collection points have been designated for the disposal of sacrificial waste. Environment-friendly disposal pits have also been prepared at various locations across the city, where animal waste would be buried safely.
