KARACHI: Renowned Chinese inverter manufacturer Hoymiles has entered the Pakistani market to offer advanced, long-duration energy storage solutions for residential, commercial and industrial solar users.

The launch was marked by ceremonies held simultaneously in Karachi and Lahore. Speaking at the Karachi event, Sindh Chief Minister’s Advisor on Science and IT Ali Rashid welcomed Chinese investment, saying the provincial government supports foreign companies setting up assembly, distribution and industrial operations in Karachi for local use and exports.

He said the Sindh government was already working with Chinese firms in sectors including logistics and renewable energy and was open to deeper public-private collaboration. He added that the province was considering establishing its own electricity regulatory authority and transmission company to develop a separate grid, with a focus on renewable energy and improved access in remote areas.

Hoymiles has partnered with Superstar and Harisun Energy to tap into Pakistan’s rapidly expanding solar market. The companies unveiled a range of energy storage systems, solar inverters and smart energy management solutions aimed at addressing the growing need for long-hour power backup. Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in solar adoption as consumers seek relief from power outages and high electricity costs. Net-metering capacity has reached 6,000 MW, while off-grid solar capacity has climbed to 12,000 MW by the end of 2025.

According to the International Energy Agency, Pakistan has emerged as one of the fastest-growing solar markets globally, becoming the third-largest destination for Chinese solar panels amid falling prices and rising demand.

Haris Jamsheed, CEO of Harisun Energy, said the partnership would help solve critical storage challenges in the solar sector, enabling uninterrupted power supply during night hours. Superstar Chairperson Saleem Umar said affordable backup solutions could boost industrial productivity and improve export competitiveness.
