Complaint against 4 LHC judges filed with SJC

ISLAMABAD: A complaint of misconduct has been filed with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) alleging violations of the code of conduct against four judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The complainant filed the complaint under Section 5(1) of the Supreme Judicial Council Procedure of Enquiry 2005 read with Article 209(5) of the Constitution.The complainant prayed the council that an inquiry be conducted against the judges and that they be removed from office.

He contended that all the four judges heard cases of individuals accused of blasphemy and, in some cases, set aside their sentences, thereby, he alleged, violating their oath, the judges’ code of conduct, and their constitutional responsibilities.
