Police in District City arrested two suspects red-handed during a crime spree within the limits of the Kalakot police station, recovering weapons, ammunition and a snatched motorbike.
According to the District City police spokesperson, the suspects were apprehended during an ongoing operation in the area. They were identified as Haris and Rashid Ali. Haris is the nephew of notorious Lyari gang war criminal Rehman Dakait.
Police recovered a pistol with rounds, and a snatched motorbike bearing registration No. KTB-0057, for which a case had already been registered at the Kalakot police station. Police said that both suspects are repeat offenders, and have previously been arrested and jailed in multiple cases.
Haris has a prior record in an illegal weapons case, while Rashid Ali had been jailed in cases related to drug peddling and gutka/mawa. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and further legal proceedings are under way, police added.
