ISLAMABAD: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi, will undertake an official visit to Pakistan on Friday, December 26.
“This will be his first visit to Pakistan as President of the United Arab Emirates. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials,” the Foreign Office announced on Wednesday.
In view of the visit, the Islamabad district administration has declared Friday a public holiday, citing the arrival of a high-level foreign delegation.
During the visit, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. PM Shehbaz and the UAE president have previously met during the prime minister’s official visits to the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the close and ongoing engagement between the two sides.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE. It said the visit underscores the depth of bilateral ties and the shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, energy, development and regional stability.
