KARACHI: Alibaba(dot)com has concluded its 2025 New Power Award in Hangzhou, China, recognising Impex Pakistan among the Global Top 20 exporters worldwide, stated a press release on Tuesday.
The award, often described as the Oscars of digital trade, celebrates B2B businesses driving innovation and growth through digital platforms. This was the first year the competition opened to sellers globally, with around 500 companies competing for the final 20 places.
Impex Pakistan was recognised for its innovative ‘AI Commander’ approach, using AI-driven tools to modernise a traditional Himalayan pink salt business. Speaking at the global finals on December 22, Haider Ali, CEO of Impex Pakistan, shared how a digital-first strategy on Alibaba(dot)com helped the company secure its first 20-foot container order within 23 days and scale rapidly to buyers in more than 30 countries.
Ali said AI helped his small team manage growth by automating routine e-commerce tasks, allowing them to operate with greater efficiency. Today, around 60 per cent of Impex Pakistan’s revenue comes from Alibaba(dot)com.
Alibaba(dot)com General Manager of Global Development Shawn Yang said the New Power Award has become a global platform for exchanging ideas and empowering exporters to turn local expertise into sustainable international businesses.
