Islamabad : A large number of affectees of Islamabad on Saturday barred the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from taking over possession of land falling in Sector H-16.
Hundreds of affectees under the umbrella of Alliance of the Affectees of Islamabad were already present at the site of H-16 when teams of CDA led by Deputy Commissioner CDA Sardar Asif reached there to get possession of land.
The affectees of H-16 were also joined by affected people of sector D-13, E-13, C-13 and C-16.
“You have started operations to take over possession of land in various sectors but that is not affordable,” a representative of affectees said.
The affectees also refused to receive cheques of compensation for their land as per award of the year 2008 from the Deputy Commissioner CDA and demanded announcement of fresh 2025 award.
The CDA teams also attempted to conduct a large scale operation but affectees stopped them from taking any action.
During negotiations with the Deputy Commissioner CDA, the representatives of affectees demanded announcement of 2025 award as per the fresh market value. They also refused to accept assessment of land through Google and Suparco.
“Neither shall we allow any operation nor give possession of land to the CDA,” they said.
Deputy Commissioner told affectees that he was not empowered to accept their demands and asked them to give detail of their charter in writing so that he could discuss the same with the competent authority in CDA.
He also invited representatives of Alliance of the Affectees of Islamabad for talks in his office tomorrow (Monday).
The affectees have also announced to stage protest demonstration on eve on visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to sector H-16.
