JIT intensifies probe into Dr Warda murder case

ABBOTTABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has intensified its probe into the abduction and murder of Dr Warda Mushtaq by conducting site inspections at key locations linked to the crime, sources said on Tuesday.

The JIT visited the house near Jadoon Plaza where Dr Warda was allegedly murdered and also inspected the spot on Thandiani Road in Lari Banohta from where her body was recovered.

During the visits, statements of local residents were recorded to corroborate the sequence of events. The team also recorded statements of the SHO and DSP of Cantonment Police Station, along with other investigating officers associated with the case.

During the course of the investigation, police sources confirmed that gold was recovered from the possession of Waheed Billa, the husband of the alleged prime mastermind Rida Jadoon besides recovery of 10 receipts and cheques worth Rs.123 million. They further confirm recovery of murder weapon-a rope used to strangle Dr Warda-on the identification of the suspects.
