ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday suspended the decision of the Election Tribunal pertaining to a matter related to re-polling at 22 polling stations in National Assembly constituency NA-251.

A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan after suspending the tribunal decision adjourned further hearing until after winter vacations. It is pertinent to mention here that in the general elections, JUIF candidate Syed Samiullah was declared successful from National Assembly constituency 251.

However, due to Form 45 being missing from 22 polling stations, the Election Tribunal had ordered re-polling at those polling stations. Samiullah had challenged the order in the Supreme Court.
