KARACHI: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has taken a landmark initiative to introduce chairlifts, cable cars and zip lines at the country’s three major airports in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The project is aimed at enhancing passenger convenience while providing a unique and modern travel experience.
Under the proposed plan, passengers will be able to use zip lines, cable cars and chairlifts to travel between terminal buildings and parking areas at Jinnah International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport and Islamabad International Airport. The initiative is designed to make it easier for travelers to cover long distances within airport premises while adding an element of entertainment and comfort to their journey.
According to the PAA, the project will not only help save passengers’ time but also create a more enjoyable and relaxing airport environment. The authority believes the innovative transport facilities will significantly improve the overall travel experience for domestic and international passengers.
To move the project forward, the commercial department of the Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a tender and invited applications from interested companies. Eligible firms have been asked to submit their proposals to the director commercial at the PAA headquarters in Karachi.
