QUETTA: The body of a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) official was recovered from the Chakul area of Panjgur on Sunday, prompting relatives to stage a protest sit-in with the body outside the District Police Officer (DPO) Office on the main road.

According to the family, the CTD official, identified as Khalil Ahmed, son of Ahmed, was abducted by unknown assailants from the Tasp area a day earlier. On Sunday, his body was found dumped in the Chakul area. Following the recovery, the bereaved family and local residents held a protest sit-in in front of the DPO Office, alleging that they had reported the abduction to the police but received no response.

After negotiations with police officials and the district administration, the protesters dispersed peacefully. Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
