91pc Pakistanis did not shop online during past 6 months

ISLAMABAD: In Pakistan, 91 percent of people did not shop online during the past six months. For online shopping, 60pc of people made payments through cash on delivery. Clothing was the most purchased category online at 30pc, followed by watches.

A recent Gallup & Gilani Survey has revealed if given the chance to spend a day with a famous personality, 49pc of people would prefer a religious leader or intellectual. 34pc believe trust is the most important factor for maintaining a relationship.

In the survey people were asked: “What do you think is the most important thing for maintaining a relationship?” Thirty-four percent responded trust, tolerance; 24pc love; 10pc giving time; 1pc gave no response.

They were also asked: “If you had the chance to spend a day with a famous personality, what would you choose to be?” Forty-nine percent religious personality or intellectual, 9pc politician; 8pc miscellaneous; 7pc athlete; 4pc actor; 22pc gave no response.

On the question: “If the internet and cable TV were shut down for an entire day, what would you do?” Fifty percent spend time in worship; 19pc talk to friends and family; 7pc wait for the internet to return; 5pc read a book; 3pc go out; 2pc sleep; 13pc gave no response.

During the survey, people were asked whether they had bought anything online in the past six months. Surprisingly 91pc said they had not made any online purchase; 8pc said they had; 1pc gave no response. On the question: “What did you buy online?” 35pc clothes; 20pc watches; 14pc decorative items; 13pc makeup; 9% shoes; 5pc utensils; 1pc gave no response.

Regarding online shopping platforms: 52pc a website; 20pc miscellaneous; 16pc local online store; 5pc Amazon; 3pc AliExpress; 4pc gave no response. For payment methods used in online shopping: 60pc cash on delivery; 15pc Easypaisa; 12pc miscellaneous; 7pc credit or debit card; 4pc bank transfer; 2pc mobile wallet.
