The International Centre for Chemical and Biological Science (ICCBS) Action Committee, along with all stakeholders of the University of Karachi, rejected the ill-intentioned “International Centre for Science Bill 2025”.
Addressing a press conference at the KU, ICCBS Action Committee leaders Safeer Mohammad, Ali Kazmi, Dr Shah Hasan and others demanded that immediate reforms be introduced in the ICCBS statutes so that the rotation policy can be enforced in accordance with the University Act.
It was demanded that the tenure of the director should be three years, like all other departments of the University of Karachi, to end authoritarian tendencies. The speakers said that under the Sindh High Court order the existing rules of the institution were required to be approved by the university senate.
