LAHORE:The Wafaqi Mohtasib, (Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan), Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, has announced that his office has resolved complaints involving Rs9.46 billion in financial terms during the year.
He said a total of 102,189 complaints regarding maladministration in federal agencies were addressed across the Punjab region. Speaking at a ceremony held at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Regional Office here on Tuesday, Qureshi emphasised that recognition of outstanding performance encourages healthy competition, which promotes professional excellence, hard work and efficiency.
The event was organised to distribute awards and certificates to officers from Punjab who showed exceptional performance in resolving public complaints in 2025. Officers from Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Multan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and DG Khan attended the ceremony.
According to the office, the number of complaints resolved in 2025 was 21.42% higher compared to the previous year.Qureshi further stated that a high-powered committee of senior officers has been formed to recommend candidates for merit-based awards under a strict evaluation process. Criteria included the number of complaints resolved, findings issued, public hearings (Khuli Katcheries), and inspection visits.
