Rawalpindi:The bakery and sweets business community strongly appeals to the Punjab government to allow price adjustments for rusk and bread in line with current market conditions, so that traders can continue their businesses even with reduced profit margins and ensure the uninterrupted supply of quality food to the public.

Chaudhry Shehzad Iqbal, Senior Vice President of the Rawalpindi Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets & Bakers Association, representing traders associated with the bakery and sweets sector, said that he considers it necessary to highlight a very important and factual issue. He stated that they have always strived to provide the public with the best, high-quality, clean, and hygienic food at reasonable prices.

Chaudhry Shehzad Iqbal explained that when these prices were originally fixed, a sack of flour cost Rs6,000, whereas today the same sack costs Rs12,000. He noted that despite the doubling of flour prices, they have not compromised on quality.
